Allison Mansion at Riverdale

Currently housing the Office of the President, Allison Mansion was constructed in 1914 and served as the residence of James Allison, one of the four founders of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. In 1936, the Sisters of Saint Francis of Oldenburg, Indiana purchased the estate, moving then Marian College to Indianapolis.

This unique venue on Marian University’s campus is an ideal setting for weddings and social events. The exterior of the house is an eclectic blend of early Prairie School and Lombardy Villa architecture. The interior is lavishly designed in a traditional European aesthetic. The grounds of the 64-acre Riverdale estate were designed by master landscape architect Jens Jensen.

The mansion offers not only 8,000 square feet of elegant space, but also overlooks the scenic surroundings of the gardens of Riverdale and the 55-acre Nina Mason Pulliam EcoLab.  In addition to hosting social gatherings, the mansion is a perfect destination for corporate retreats and conferences.
