GSA logoGeneration Study Abroad is an initiative, launched in 2014, of the Institute of International Education (IIE) to mobilize resources and commitments with the goal of doubling the number of U.S. students studying abroad by the end of the decade. The initiative, which is timed to coincide with IIE's centennial in 2019, highlights IIE's commitment to study abroad and encourage purposeful, innovative action to get more Americans to undertake a meaningful international experience through academic study abroad programs, as well as internships, service learning, and non-credit educational experiences.

Federal Work Study Process  

  1. Determine your Federal Work Study (FWS) eligibility. Review your award letter in CAMS. If eligible, your award letter will state “Federal College Work Study.”
  2. Apply for the specially-marked Federal Work Study positions on KnightWork.
  3. Apply for FWS positions based on the job responsibilities, qualifications, interests, and skills. FWS positions are competitive, so apply early for several opportunities.
    • Follow application instructions and deadlines implicitly. Some positions may require a resume, cover letter, or interview as part of the hiring process.
    • You may schedule an appointment with the Exchange staff for assistance.
