Master of Arts in Teaching students can choose from three delivery formats.

Master of Arts (M.A.) in Teaching

The Master of Arts in Teaching program at Marian University is a versatile, flexible degree for students who have earned a bachelor's degree in a field other than education and who want to change careers and become licensed K-12 teachers.

Upon completion of the program you'll be prepared to pursue licensure in

  • Primary grades (K-3)
  • Intermediate grades (4-6)
  • Secondary grades (5-12)
  • All grades (P-12)

Earning a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree from Marian University will establish you as a credible, well-prepared educator.

  • Our MAT curriculum gives you knowledge, skills, and insight into the practical, applied art of teaching and educational attainment of K-12 students.
  • You'll explore a range of pedagogical concepts and theories, teaching methods, instructional styles, and other essentials required for effective teaching.
  • During your internship, you'll be paired with a master teacher who will serve as a mentor providing you with support, guidance, and encouragement.
