International Undergraduate Freshmen

Application Process

  1. Apply using the Marian University International Application.  It's free!

  2. English language proficiency: Document your English language proficiency following the requirements listed on the right. 

  3. SAT/ACT scores are OPTIONAL: However, they may strengthen your qualifications for additional scholarships.

  4. Academic records: Your official academic record should document all secondary or high school subjects you have studied and their final grades/marks. Every effort will be made to evaluate your transcript, but you may be required to submit an official transcript evaluation or translation of your transcript.

  5. External exam results: Official records such as O-levels, IB, IGCSE, ICSE, SPM, KCSE, and others that are administered by an educational examining board.

  6. ​Passport: ​Submit a copy or scan of the photo identity page of your passport.

  7. Proof of finances: Submit a completed 2018-19 Financial Verification along with supporting documents from within the past six months showing sufficient funds to cover the first year of study. Supporting documents include a bank statement or letter from the bank.

English Language Requirements

If your native language is not English, send an official English language proficiency test result directly to Marian University. Minimum scores are:

  • TOEFL IBT  69   
  • TOEFL Paper 523
  • TOEFL CBT 193
  • IELTS  6.0

Nursing Program

  • TOEFL IBT Overall score 83. Speaking score 26
  • IELTS Overall score 6.5. Speaking score 26

Marian University will waive this requirement if you have:

  • Earned a degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or
  • Earned at least 24 regular semester hours of university credit from an accredited U.S. college or university, or
  • Completed at least one year of high school in which English was the language of instruction.

Next Steps

  • Once received, we will review your completed application and contact you via email if additional information is needed.
  • If admitted, you will receive an official Marian University admission letter and I-20 form through the mail.
  • Complete an E-Ship Global request. Please see express mailing request for additional instructions.

Need-Based Financial Aid

When you begin your admission application, you should also begin the financial aid process. You must submit financial aid documents by the due dates below. To apply for need-based assistance, complete the College Scholarship Service’s PROFILE. By completing these forms, you enable our financial aid team to assess your family’s financial picture which, in turn, allows us to offer you the assistance you need based on your family’s eligibility.

Due Dates

  • For spring admission: November 1
  • For fall admission: June 1
