Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences

The Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MU-COM) offers a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences (BMS). This two-track master's degree program provides students the opportunity to enhance their medical or professional school applications by completing one-year of graduate science courses (similar to the first year of medical school), or a two-year curriculum for those who wish to pursue a career in the life/biomedical sciences or research laboratories.

All courses are taught by MU-COM faculty
, giving students an opportunity to build relationships with faculty who may have shared research interests, allowing students to grow academically in an environment focused on the biomedical and life sciences.

Curriculum

The Biomedical Sciences program offers students two tracks. For those interested in pursuing a professional degree by enhancing your application there is a coursework track. This track provides students with an opportunity to complete 32 credit hours at a level similar to the first year of medical school.

For individuals pursuing a career in the life or biomedical sciences there is a research track. This 42 credit-hour program integrates upper-level science courses with research courses to develop critical thinking and research methods to prepare students for their career as a research scientist.
