Sam grew up in the small town of Batesville, Indiana (down the road from Oldenburg and the sisters that sponsor Marian) where she graduated from Batesville High School. Afterwards, she went on to attend Purdue University where she majored in Anthropology with minors in Psychology and Forensics.
While at Purdue, Sam lived in Shoemaker Cooperative where she served in a number of offices, including President. She also took part in Boiler Gold Rush, the freshman orientation program and Boiler Steam, which conducted prospective student tours and other events around campus.
During her last two years at Purdue, Sam also worked in the Office of Admissions as a Call Center Representative. This allowed her to get a first- hand look at the admissions process and ultimately led her to change her career path from anthropology to higher education. After graduation, Sam moved to Dayton, Ohio only to come back to Indiana a year later- home sweet home! She now serves as the Transfer Admissions Counselor for college students wishing to continue their education at Marian University.
Outside of work, Sam enjoys spending time with her dog, Avery and her fiancé. As a self- proclaimed coffee junkie, she also enjoys exploring Indy and all the good food it has to offer!
